Be creative with an all-white wedding
They met in Mykonos, Greece in the summer of 2016. Michael was in Greece for a wedding and Tania was vacationing with some friends. Through a friend of a friend, they found out that there was a group from Toronto in town for a wedding, so they found out what bar they were at and crashed their party. Michael introduced himself to Tania and they hit it off instantly. (They had both been living in Toronto but never crossed paths before.) They spent the rest of the night dancing, flirting, getting to know each other, and sneaking a kiss or two. A few weeks later once they were both back in Toronto, they had their first date at a bar in the Annex and the rest is history.
Given that Michael is Jewish and Tania is Catholic, it was important for them to honour both their religions and traditions. They had a Catholic wedding ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Church at 12:30. A lot of family and friends who couldn’t join them in the evening (due to COVID capacity limits) joined them for the Church ceremony.
Michael was born and raised in Montreal, and the couple always wanted to get married at a hotel so that they could throw a great party for all the out-of-towners over the course of the whole weekend. They kicked off the weekend with a Rehearsal Dinner on Friday night at the Epoch Bar at the Ritz, and the rest of the celebrations were held at the Hotel X. It was a smaller wedding (92 guests, down from the original 300 person wedding they had planned!) but it felt so intimate and special to be able to share it with their nearest and dearest.
