Meet the DIY Queen that brought a French country wedding theme to life in a family member’s backyard
Leighanna envisioned “a broken down rustic mansion” theme for her French country wedding in Tottenham, Ontario. How did she achieve it? By creating an indoor atmosphere outdoors with colourful, whimsical details. As a graphic designer and DIY enthusiast, the resourceful bride was able to take care of all stationery, giftware, floral and decor elements over the course of two years (her and her skilled carpenter fiancé created an Etsy shop in 2016 to help offset the cost). Two Costco carports were used for the outdoor tent; an old canoe was refurbished from a neighbour’s field for romantic photos on the water; and hay bales were incorporated for seating after the ceremony. From the bicycle and boxwood backdrop to the designated beer bath, we’re simply inspired!
