Planning your wedding day is a creative and beautiful venture that requires the coordination of several experts. With their unique expertise, each one has one common goal—to bring your vision to life. We were honored to be part of this beautiful style shoot created by some amazing local wedding specialists.
MARILYN SIGNATURE EVENT & MA CHÉRIE BLEUE
Why did we decide to have a photoshoot?
Because love has no color, ethnicity, or religious belief, love is the deepest and most passionate sentiment. Humans create boundaries, while love breaks them. Marilyn Signature Event and Ma Chérie Bleue embraced the “The Love in the City” project to support the black lives matter movement. We have always felt that the wedding industry needed to be inclusive and demonstrate diversity. 2020 has been challenging in many ways. Importantly we have learned racial discrimination of any kind will no longer be tolerated. And what better way to do so, aligning a realm of artists and professionals from the black community and allowing them to show the beauty and talent that lies in our community.
How could we demonstrate this togetherness and passion that unites us every day?
We decided to put together a high-end photoshoot collaborating with some of the best black-owned businesses in Montreal. The photoshoot took place in old Montreal to bring together an urban look and rustic feel. The gorgeous William Grey Hotel provided the backdrop for the shoot. With fall at our doorsteps, we thought we could emphasize the scene by setting up a chic table with a modern touch. We used fall colors such as orange and black with a gorgeous pampas grass tree as the centerpiece.
Variety is the spice of life. We selected four different wedding gowns looks for the beautiful bride. Each reflecting a style; modern, classic elegant, and versatility for that fun, casual princess the new trend of the 2 in 1 gown that transition from long to short dress for party time. With the change of the times, We incorporated the face mask.
The gorgeous couple was captured, making their way through beautiful Old Montreal. We chose a real-life couple as models; their love is tangible through our photographer’s lens. We want to thank everyone who contributed to making this project possible. Special thanks to Hayley Paige and the team at Elegant Wedding who supported us through it all and who believes in the inclusivity and stands with us in saying: “black lives matter.”
Elegant Wedding Supporting Black Entrepreneurs
The day you say “I do” is one of the most memorable moments in your entire life. Now that you’ve said “I do,” the hard work begins. Our world of weddings is small but oh so big. With all that has happened in 2020, we are all called to be more diverse, inclusive, and accepting. We are called to do more, to be more. We want our entire community to know that we are committed to supporting black-owned businesses. While we have done our best to embrace diversity in our publication and blog, we pledge to diversify our content to represent our amazing couples and vendors.
