Romantic Raindrops

December 6, 2010

In July, Daniela and Mark held their wedding reception at the historic Graydon Hall Manor in Toronto.  While many brides hang their hopes on a sunny day, this couple was undeterred by an afternoon of rainfall and grey skies; in fact, the sombre weather played beautifully against the ivory, gold, and ballet slipper pink colours they had selected.  The bride wore a billowy gown that echoed the looming clouds above, and posed in the manor’s elegant forecourt, puddles and all.

Dinner was catered by the award-winning Couture Cuisine and included a pasta duo of spinach & ricotta ravioli + orecchiette with pancetta and peas and an entrée of roasted provimi veal chop with soft polenta, roasted gypsy peppers, and porcini mushroom sauce.  The dessert, the couple’s towering wedding cake, was served simply with raspberry coulis and local berries.

Late in the evening, the guests were treated to a Neapolitan pizza bar and custom coffee station, which kept everyone dancing into the wee hours.
